This Is A Bit of What We Do

each year for Halloween.
This is after the first day of decorating.
.

.

This is a week later.

We usually put Frankenstein on the garage,

but this year we opted for the Hot Rod full of monsters up there...and Frankie in the doorway.

The pumpkin stack got voted out of the doorway, and this is our "lawn mower."

Carl makes a ghost track for ghosts to fly around our yard.

One of the bicycle wheels has a motor attached to it that spins the string and makes the ghosts fly. We put out black lights on Halloween to make them glow.

On Halloween night we also add a fog machine, strobe light, motion-sensor noise-makers,
a witch face in the window, etc. Carl dresses up, and passes out candy.

I dress up and take the kids around the neighborhood.

Not much.

But our neighbors love it.

What Deer Hunt?

We went to the ranch on Sat. Oct 18th. We, being non-hunters,
didn't realize that it was the deer hunt until we got up there.
There was no missing the deer hunters and deer campers.
They were everywhere.
Most of the day was spent digging holes, laying pipes, burying pipes,
and fixing the pipes a certain back hoe operator forgot about and dug into.
Grandma Ann would have been proud to see so many of her grandsons digging holes at the same time.
Looking north toward the fire pit and bathroom.
Kaden took Kyson and his friend on a ride in the Ranger down to the Reservoir. They went through some mud, sank, and were stuck for over an hour.
Everyone that tried to help them out got stuck also.

Andrea's Avery and one of Holly's babies.Holly is trying to strip Kaden so we can see his ripped abs. He's being shy.
Now he's not.
How many teenage boys does it take to light a fire?

Only one, as long as he has a gas can.

POOF!!

Sullivan Sunset Ridge

Wonder no more why it's called "Sunset Ridge."

Kaden kept busy tracking down firewood. We used every bit of it.

Boys and their toys.

Scott built this cool little dirt course for the kids to ride bikes and ATV's on. Kaden and Kauri testing it out. Kyson and Kortlen catching some air. Carl, Stan, Scott = "the mans with the plans"

Haley, Kassy, and Kinzie. Grandma Ann promised us blue skies by the time we were supposed to eat at 5 pm, and it was beautiful at 5.... But we didn't eat till 5:30, and we got we got pelted with hail/snow pellets.

Kauri is trying to figure out if her hotdog is still edible with all the snow pellets on her plate.Holly and Ann took cover. Stan, Josh, Danny,

front: Kay, Holly, Josh, Steve, Charlie,

back: Danny, Ann, Kathy

Kathy, Ann, Stan,
Looking south, here's some of the 20ish trees Scott, Kaden, and Kay planted over the past couple of weeks. You can see that the ground is plumbed, graded, and ready for rock removal (that we're all so experienced at.) It snowed little snow pellets off and on all day.
Don't be fooled. It is not Scott holding up the shovel-
it's the shovel holding up Scott.
Koby enjoying some marshmallows.
Kaden babysitting Holly's babies.

Just FYI. Gas prices in Veyo 10/11/08.

She wished everyone could have been here.

The plan is to work on the "campsites", and the rest of the property some more this coming weekend. The kids are out of school on Thurs. and Fri., so there might be some camping going on, also.

Cowboy Up!

Danny caught this great shot of Stan showing off his sweet tractor skills one Saturday afternoon at the ranch. Just boys havin' fun!

Fiber (AHHHHhhhhhhh!!!) One

I sent these Fiber One bars with my boys to gym Monday, thinking
it'll be a good healthy snack for them on their "break".
They came home cussing me out.
Apparently, they ate them with a little over an hour to go at gym,
but two of them didn't make it till the end of gym
without spending a few minutes in the "john".
Kashton swore he'd never eat another one,
cause they worked so fast.
.
The next day K1 called from school not feeling well.
I estimated the symptoms to be dehydration since he never
drinks water and works out a lot. I told him to drink a lot of water,
and call me in a half hour if it didn't work.
He didn't call. It must've worked.
Apparently, his fiber one bar didn't work quite as quickly
as it did for the other two boys.
After a few minutes with "john", he felt better also.
Tonight, one of my boys "A" came downstairs laughing,
because the fiber bar that "B" took to the gym today
had worked really well.
"B" had left the evidence in the toilet, and "A"
had never seen anything like it (or as long as it) before.
I laugh everytime I think about it.
.
.
(Probably because I've eaten a few of those bars myself.......)
